The art and soul of the Islamic garden
I'm Mansoor, final year architecture student, I would like to know about the details of "Art and soul of the islamic garden". There is a book by this title written by Emma Clark.

Hi Maria Ayub, thanks for reply. I'm forced to tell you that I'm not able to buy those books you mentioned as I'm a student from a poor family. So I request you to send me the contents of those books if you have or other related sites, as I would like to do a seminar on this topic for landscape. Thanking you,

You may be poor Mansoor but you're already richer than other students who do not have access to the internet, or, who cannot afford to go to university... These two are your gates to resources, and you need to take initiative to use them.

And this website that you happen to be on has a lot of resources... Browse, read, and focus your topic.

The Digital library has many Islamic gardens you can look at. Simply, click on Digital Library > Images > View by building type:landscape.

The Digital Library also has numerous scholarly publications in pdf format that focus primarily on Islamic gardens. You can find them among the 'landscape' topic publications (Click on > Digital Library > Publications > Articles related to Building Type: landscape).

And when you're done with these, go to www.google.com and search for keywords such as "Islamic gardens". You'll find hundreds of websites.

Thanks for your replies, Maria & Ozgur...

I have changed my topic "the art of the Islamic garden" as "adaptability and symbolism of Islamic garden". I request you to help me in this with a detailed explanation, like websites, books...

Sure, just give me a week and I'll send a paper written on the topic your way.

Dear Maria,

As a fellow person in academics, I would advise you not to ever give copies of your personal work to others -- unless you are sure that they will not plagiarize it. Pointing someone to resources is another thing... and for that, Mansoor has to demonstrate that he has done his share of the work, of which I am very skeptical.

Thanks...

Hello Ozgur,

I understood what you mean, but I need a helping hand. If Maria can help me by giving handouts, that's her good mentality. I'm sure I'll not misuse it. Please, don't misunderstand me.

Hello Maria, if you don't mind, please forward me the handouts to the following mail ids: mansoornitc@yahoo.co.in, mansoor_mohamed@hotmail.com

Thanking you,
Mansoor Mohamed

Hello Mansoor,

So it is Symbolism In Islamic gardens... Apart from all the help you are getting from Maria and Ozgur, I would suggest you should also have a brief insight into the culture and traditions of the Islamic people... that would help you to understand the symbolism better.

Dear Monika,
So what are the culture and traditions of "Islamic people"?

For Mansoor, I would once more recommend the articles in the following section of the digital library:

http://archnet.org/library/
documents/documents.jsp?type=landscape

And the following historic gardens:

sites.jsp?key=garden&collection_id=23&select=usage
