Rubber dams
Hi,

I would like some information on chances of failures of rubber dams and how those failures can be prevented.

Thank you,

Rubber dams
Mrudhula, I assume this refers to rubber-lined dams, where the rubber is used as a waterproof membrane?

Rubber is perishable (the old word for bio-degradable) and I believe there are micro-organisms which eat through rubber. Using a rubber lining for a dam means (a) making sure that the surface it is laid upon is smooth and firm to avoid tears from pressure on sharp points and (b) cover the upper surface to protect from sharp or heavy objects dropping and tearing holes.
