Travelling to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan...
I repair ancient buildings, ruins and monuments in Wales, U.K. I do work for the National Trust, Cadw, English Heritage and other bodies. My special interest is in stone conservation, earth structures, lime mortars and plasters. I have been awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship to study ancient building methods, materials and mortars. I will be visiting Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and possibly other countries in the region, in late April and all of May this year.
I am trying to organise visits to working building conservation / restoration projects and would be grateful if any members could suggest any sites and who I should contact to make a visit possible.

After being in Rome last week, I find ancient ruins extremely fascinating; esp red brick construction. This might be a new found of interest for me. Do share your experience and observation in a blog or something.
