Building Technology

Electromagnetic levitation: buildings?
I am a student of architecture in the college of CSIIT Hyderabad; I want to build a building on the principle of magnetic levitation.

As one knows, similiar poles repel. Could this technology could be used for a floating building? I wanted to know how many of my ideas are practicable, and how can it be mechanised; are there any books about magnetic levitation?

Divya,
Electromagnetic Levitation (aka maglev) could be used for buildings, but you would need to secure all four sides otherwise it would slip sideways.

Plus, you would need a very large amount of constant electrical power for the magnets.
