Modern Architecture in Paris
I will be visiting Paris, France shortly to see buildings of architectural interest. I have a list of the usual suspects, and would like feedback from fellow designers on the most fascinating/stimualating/creative buildings to see. My area is retail and commercial architecture, and I have a particular interest in the origins of art deco. Any advice would be appreciated, particularly "don't go to paris without seeing the ....". Thanks.

Dear Murray Brassington,
I`d recommend you to visit the following places:
- Muse Quai Branly by Jean Nouvel, especially in the evening, because the outdoor lightning ist marvellous.
- The Institue du Monde Arabe, also by Jean Nouvel
- Parque de la Villette and Cit de la Musique by Bernhard Tschumi and Christian de Pontzamparc
- Forum Les Halles by Chemetov for retail. Its from the Eighties and a little bit run down, but still fascinating to see, if you find your way out of the underground - labyrinth....

Murray, There are a great many Art Nouveau buildings in Paris. There is a Michelin Green Guide for this subject. :)
