Professionalism
In my personal opinion the term Professionalism is when one deals with its profession in an ideal manner.
Same can be applied to archtecture or architects. His professionalism can be well described by the 10 points mentioned by Mr. Chauhan in an another discussion i.e.
1. Explore climate responsive architecture.
2. Be sensitive to lifestyle of people.
3. Make your architecture socially and culturally relevant.
4. Make appropriate choice of technologies for each part of the project
5. Be austere in use of renewable and non-renewable resources.
6. Aim to generate meaningful work for craftsmen / construction workers.
7. Create architecture that is affordable to common citizen.
8.Involve local community / users actively in the project
9. Encourage participation in all stages of design, construction and development.
10.Innovate and pursue the path of excellence in architecture.

Although according to him this is not the end and one can generate his another criteria for dealing with the architecture. But I think in these points we can also percive the professionalty of an architect i.e to deal with the profession in an ideal way.

The above ten points seems only can be treated as the duties of an architect

dont you think so?
Barry Wun
Professionalism
Of course Barry!
To be professional is a duty of an architect, which seems to be missing even in some of the prolific architects around the globe, according to the discussion under the heading FAMOUS ARCHITECTS in the same forum.

oh!
it seems that if a person who are able to do the 10 things above could be a professional architect, isnt it?
Is an AP must be a professional?
What are the professional attitude of an architect ?, or an AP

Professionalism
No Molato,
These 10 points should not by consider as the end of the world.
As you know skys the limit.
Sorry Molato! what is AP?

Professionalism
Very interesting. I shall prefer to state that professional etiquette needs to answer through responsibility action in given situation. Say a professional killer or executer needs to know his skills well so that the act has decency.

AP is Authorized Person
which include architects, structural engineers and surveyors.
they all have professional qualification.

Professionalism
Yes, Mr. Dushyant Nathwani, I think that a professional should know their skills very well which is over average. Professional should do their profession(s) the best. So that the clients would hire them instead of a 'improfessional person', Right? A professional can give us a 'warrantable' quality of work, thats why all of us want to be a professional!
