who knows anything about framing vistas?

great topic.......in land scape when one moves from place to place on a path vistas keep on opening.....after a cosiderate time of travel,certain vista can be framed through gazibo or an old tree.....cambinations can be many in design.

Siavash, To frame a distant view, select a focal point for the eye in the distance and then enclose the view from where you are all of the way to the focal point. The frame can be composed of trees, hedges, rocks, earth (as in hills), etc.

If you look at the semi-formal park landscapes as designed by Capabality Brown and others, or indeed any public garden made several hundred years ago then you will see that focal points and views were designed for people to walk slowly along paths as a leisure activity.

The Ego and the Id
I don�t know if I am right or wrong but framing sounds like what the ego is doing to id.
Don�t you think so? I don�t want to say it is bad to frame something or it is good. But do you think that architect is somehow working like ego and viewer is like id in case?
