Abdelghani, any building within a country can be considered to be part of that county`s heritage, because it is part of that country`s history.

To wipe out every trace of colonial building is a form of ethnic cleansing which continually rewrites history.

The book "1984" by George Orwell shows very clearly how the bureaucrats of a totalitarian state can wipe away the past and then rewrite the past.

And to quote an old saying "Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat (the mistakes) of the past."
