If this has something to do with the building that you told me about...it just makes me wonder what on earth can a building like that communicate?
I'm not saying that it doesn't communicate or say anything what i am asking is whether if its worthwhile for us to really consider what that building is trying to say?
there are somethings that we should retain for posterity and there are things that we should do away with.and this one WE SHOULD DO AWAY WITH.

one word my friend DEMOLISH. :)

i don't agree with the term "demolish".
to demolish or prosperity would be being rude.

if not to demolish, then what do you propose to do with unwanted buildings? unwanted building create unwanted spaces, in this case it might even hinder the value of place.
what do you mean prosperity is rude????

at times bldgs. have negative energy and no use,yes it can be demolished...or put the blgd. to use and infuse rositive energy till the structure allows and bldg.is part of habitable surrounding....in india the science of vastu has been developed to infuse energy in old unused bldg.s.....yes they communicate.

the existing buildings are seen as barriers that need to be designed around or in some cases demolished in order to impose a new design of the time. Sometimes historic existing element may be left untouched simply because it is historic.but the challenge is, successfully add to an existing building while continuing a narrative of the structures history and past functions. How does the integration of new and old not simply replace history, but in fact add to it? How does the story of the building evolve?

are we not bringing more difficulty on ourselves by ascribing human characteristics to physical elements which we mean to create and later destroy? or is this too short-sighted?

can buildings communicate?
Yes,many reason why buildings can communicate, first the origin where the buildings inspire from theory of architecture, then the style,as well the function of the structure itself.

The concept of evolution can be applied to the adaptive reuse process in order to contribute to the idea of gradual change telling a story. The effects of time and technology can be played into the relationship between a building and its users in a constantly evolving story. It sets up the past, displays the present, and leaves room for the future. Evolution of a building is so interesting because it displays the interaction of humans and creates a direct dialogue between the changing users and their equally active environment.

we could be confusing "communication" with "storage of information". if one can get the 'story' behind the buildings and preserve that 'story' in some other form, will not that justify disposing the buildings?
