Housing and the soul

This is my response to contributions to the same topic by Dushyant Nathwani on March 24, 2007, and Carmel Ennis on March 26, 2007.

Upon reflection and research, I re-affirmed my understanding of the relationship between the soul and shelter.

The human soul appears in the material world as much as it exists within the spiritual world. The human body and mind exist in the material realm and are dependent upon the soul. The human mind exists by virtue of the action of the mental powers of the soul upon the brain. It conceptualizes and the body actualizes the conception.

Through reason man makes objects and discovers things. The mind discovers and creates by listening to and reflecting upon the subtle movement of the soul as it expresses itself in bodily sensations, feelings, emotions, images, ideas, and dreams.

A house or shelter therefore is like a shadow of the soul; its physical reality. This physical reality acts, at the same time, as a training ground for new souls to develop spiritual capacities. Thus analyzing the house is one way of analyzing the human soul.
