Role of the individuals in the built environment
I believe that the beauty of the Islamic city emerged form the collaborative work of each individual. Individuality appeared very clearly, but nevertheless it did not disturb coherency and homogeneity. I am writing in this subject and seeking references writings in regared to the role of the individuals in creating the built environment, particularly in the traditional Islamic city.

I think a good book to refer to is Fez City of Islam by Titus Burckhart. It covers all aspects and dynamics of an Traditional-Ideal Islamic city. I hope this helps. Salam
