You might also like to consider the beehive type multispace villages as found on islands NW of Scotland. The actual construction method relies on making round houses using roughly oblong flat stone slabs overhanging inwards in ever-decreasing circles. This "corbel" type technique is ancient and probably is one of the earliest forms of man-made contruction.
