Please suggest some good firms in Pune and Ahmedabad for practical training. Design and learning are my important criteria.

Hi, I think you need to specify more about your preferences in terms of office size- a large firm, a commercial firm, a small office etc., as well as the nature of projects- do you want to do primarily residential, office, industrial etc.
I want to take this opportunity to wonder out loud whether we should have a database of architects and their contact numbers, as many students regularly ask for such details.
The one I can suggest to you is "Christopher Charles Benninger Architects," in Pune. Basically, it is a learning studio for young architects, where you can learn about design and the practical aspects simultaneously.
I would also say that primarily you should opt for a firm whose kind of work appeals to you, and suggest that you not go for a big shot firm, as there you'll not be able to learn much about designing.
All the best,
I agree with Prof.[:)]Kashikar. For training purposes, as well as other reasons, we can afford to have an organised system which can have the architect's portfolios and contact details. Some sort of a briefing of the type of firm they are, and what kind of work they do (and maybe how much the trainee is going to be in the mainstream of the work in office).
