Thesis: transitional spaces

My thesis topic is transitional spaces, "in between spaces". My research will focus on the formulation of space and its design, looking into the rhythm and quality of it as a whole. I would also look into the types of transitional spaces on all scales. If you have any ideas or can help me in any ways, please do comment.

Dhananjay, perhaps you should consider the involuntary or instinctive design of the ancient Greek schools, because several of these schools were known for walking about and discussing / debating issues while walking.
If memory serves, the term is "Peripatetic" and the definition on my Oxford English Dictionary says "[1] Aristotelian [from Aristotle`s custom of walking in Lyceum while teaching]". and "Lyceum" is defined as "Garden in Athens in which Aristotle taught, his philosophy and followers". In other words, such a garden can be considered to be an `open air` transitional space used for teaching and learning. :)
