I am taking a Product Development course where we have to design a new Window opening cover (Blinds). The only specification is it should be innovative. The blinds needn't be for windows... they can be designed for doors, skylights, vents, arches, portals or any kind of opening. If somebody can imagine a covering that is innovative in design and technology, please help me, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you

Architectural Window opening
You should take a look at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris designed by Jean Nouvel. The perforated screens on the facade utilise photovoltaic cells that operate much like a camera lens to adjust the amount of light that penetrates the building. This is one of the most innovative examples I know of. This building can be found in the Digital Library.
