Don't Know

Books or resources on Historic Mediterranean Architecture
Hello :) Can anyone recommend some great books or other resources that give a thorough general overview of historic architecture of the Mediterranean region? (Including the Levant).

Alison, you could start with [1] "The Ten Books on Architecture" by Vitruvius, pub by Dover Inc. [2] "Roman Imperial Architecture" by JB Ward-Perkins, pub by Pelican, [3] "A History of Ottoman Architecture" by Godfrey Godwin, pub by Thames and Hudson, [4] "A Sense of Unity" by Ardalan and Bakhtiar, pub by UCP and [5] Arabic-Islamic Cities by Besim Selim Hakim pub by KPI.

Although, obviously these books are merely a sample of the wealth of architecture in the Middle East. :)))
