James Yamada

James Yamada is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s Master in Design Studies program (MDes, 2014), a Creative Technologist at Certain Measures, a Tool Developer at the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT, and a former Creative Technologist at both the Harvard GSD Geometry Lab and metaLAB (at) Harvard. His experience and interests center on the design and development of interactive digital platforms, the construction of narrative, applied research through speculative prototyping, and the intersection of architecture and computation.

James is the primary designer and programmer for LayerCake, an interactive, 3-axis mapping tool developed at the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT.
