Suliman S. Olayan School of Business
Beirut, Lebanon
Responding to the master plan, the business school serves to tie the campus to the Corniche and the Mediterranean in a four-storey, approximately L-shaped configuration. Vistas and sightlines govern as the structure is enveloped in the lattice-work of a hanging stone screen framing views of both the campus and the sea. The perforated screen covers and ties together the upper floors of four distinct glass volumes interconnected by terraces and atria. At the ground level, the glass curtain wall remains uncovered, providing transparent spaces for public amenities around a triangular courtyard. This public area is traversed by pathways reinforcing strong pedestrian connections to the Mediterranean and to the oval courtyard, echoing those of the main campus.
