Yıldırım Bayezid Han Mosque (MEGT)

Evliya Çelebi (Seyahatnâmesi, 2:224b) describes the gardens of the Yıldırım Bayezid Han Mosque as the heavenly gardens of the city with its roses, hyacinths, and basil flowers. The mosque was constructed between 1391 and 1395, and was damaged in the Bursa earthquake of 1855, after which it required extensive renovation.
