Born 23 May 1951 in Ogidi, Kogi State, Nigeria, Nike Davies-Okundaye is one of Nigeria's most well-known artists and textile designers. She became known for her mastery of “Adire”, a Yoruba indigo-dyed fabric. She has exhibited internationally and is recognized as a champion of African artists and women. She is the founder of the Nike Art Gallery.
