Lecture 19: Building Conservation and Urban Renewal Part 2 (narrated version)

Comprehensive conservation and restoration programmes for historic buildings as well as integrated urban revitalisation can enhance the architectural qualities of historic cities. Such attempts are useful when they are put into action, while looking at historic Islamic sites as living environments rather than just tourist attractions, in order to sustain their value for future generations.

The case studies focus on the Manoucheri House, Kashan, Iran, and Salalah, Oman.
