Jabu Centre Phase I
Siteki, Swaziland
Jabu Bags is a Canadian social enterprise supporting an income-generating project in the rural areas of Swaziland. The modest complex provides workshop space, interior and exterior, service areas as well as a room for community functions. With re used materials like pallets, car tyres and rejected bricks, a pleasant and embracing working environment has been created. Earth walls and earth plaster were used for the walls, securing easy and traditional maintenance. The structures were realised in only 7 weeks by a team of women from Jabu, a group of related men and the designers.
