Hoshiar Nooraddin
Hoshiar Nooraddin is an architect and urban planner with extensive experience in education, practice and research. He is currently Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Interior Design, Canadian University Dubai, and teaches urban design, architectural design, and sustainability. Dr. Nooradin holds a PhD in Urban Design from the Department of Urban Design and Planning, Faculty of Architecture, at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Nooradin has directed numerous architectural and urban design projects including the design of several streets in Oslo, the master plan for the Orient University in Tripoli-Lebanon, the new campus of Salahaddin University, and the master plan for Arat Industrial City in Erbil, Iraq. Dr. Nooradin regularly participates in international conferences, workshops and forums, and has written several books and articles. He is active in developing awareness of sustainable urban development in Dubai through his collaborations with local authorities, universities and non-profit organisations, including establishing the Green Universities Council, to support universities in the UAE to build their knowledge of green building technologies.
