García Cortés

1906 – 1976

Born in 1906 in Soria, Spain, Garcia Cortés began working as a photographer in Tetouan where he where 

he opened a mobile laboratory. Around the fifties, he opened a workshop, the success of which allowed him to open a branch in (Chefchaouen). He was the official photographer of the High Commissioner of Spain to Morocco.  (“Garcia Cortes Francisco” n.d.)

After Morocco gained its independence in 1956, Cortés moved to Ceuta then to Málaga where he died in 1976.
