10 Saray El-Gezira Street
Cairo, Egypt

This residential building, of which the architect has remained unknown, has been built in a “Streamline Moderne” style. It is a perfect example of naval and industrial architecture forms which influenced Art Deco from 1930. Indeed, the facade presents a central triple circular element with a triangular form similar to a boat chimney.

The elevation is characterized by its variety of balconies that feature circular and streamline forms, as well as ogee arches and linear decoration. There is a real contrast with the impression of height due to the central longitudinal element and the curved and horizontal lines of the balconies.
