A family residential complex, the project consists of six buildings: father’s house, two sons’ houses, a majlis, mosque and service block. The design of the complex is based on traditional Gulf architecture with the three houses grouped together around an open space. The mosque occupies a strategic location at the corner of the plot and the majlis and service block extend in a linear fashion along the southern perimetre. The overall layout is designed to give the effect of a traditional fareej (neighbourhood). The components combine to create interesting and dynamic massings and articulation, treated in a harmonious manner through their materials, colours and forms.
