Architecture is used as a vehicle for social change in this project that transforms the idea of a factory from a sweatshop to a creative work-studio with natural light and trees growing on the workshop floor. The design strategy is based on a campus system to optimize synergies between parts, where each structure must be functional, efficient, durable and easy to maintain, and all must create a worker experience that is green, light and human. Long span trusses integrated into a system of skylights cut the carbon fuel requirements, and an aluminium jaali runs across the south facade, filtering light into the main working space.
