Chizari is a six story residential building comprising five apartments of three bedrooms each. Tehran municipality regulations, together with the plot proportions, imposed an unusual triangular footprint onto the project. First the two edges of the triangle, which formed the façade, were unfolded and the whole facade was designed as one single face. Then the façade was folded back again, but this time none of the folding lines at each level were the same and the openings slid along a vertical axis. Natural stone, wooden curtains along with the organic texture of the cement, which was created by a specially designed comb, were the facade materials.
