Protel Office Building
Istanbul, Türkiye
The Protel offices were built to bring together all units of the company scattered in different locations and to provide a potential expansion area. Working spaces are placed on different but visually connected levels instead of a stacked layout, thus workers can interact throughout the building. Internal passages, terraces and gardens become the natural extensions of working areas. A central atrium creates a luminous circulation space and provides a vertical visual continuity. The geometry of the building is determined by a white box and a dark band that envelops it. This band comprises perforated panels providing daylight control and a filtered connection with the street. The bridges which connect the building with the street are also the part of this filtration.
