Studio Santral
Istanbul, Türkiye
This student accommodation building, hosting 305 beds with different room typologies and shaped as a long and narrow rectangle, is situated to the south of Bilgi University’s Silahtaraga Campus, once Silahtaraga Power Plant, the first in Turkey. The southern part of the area contains lodging once allocated power plant employees. It connects the campus with the road and defines the entrance to the campus. Featuring a combination of various modules that lend rhythm and asymmetry to the design, the facade reflects a young and dynamic character. Each floor has terrace gardens as outer gathering points for students, the basement floor has indoor social areas for students and the ground floor has a 300 m2 commercial area.
