The House, on a hillside site in a typical Mediterranean landscape, covers an area of 197.5 m2, and is organised as two gable-roofed masses positioned perpendicular to each other, connected and surrounded by a variety of outer decks -.sunny, shaded, breezy and sheltered. At every opening of the house, the users remain connected with the outside; dissolving the barrier between the interior and exterior space. The transparent intersection of the two masses houses the kitchen and the general living area, a modern equivalent of the Turkish hayat, providing access to all the decks. This low-cost sustainable living environment has been built by local contractors and craftsmen.
