Pont El Kantara

The oldest bridge in Constantine, the current structure was built between 1860 and 1863, after the collapse of an earlier bridge. Originally a Roman aqueduct, a bridge was constructed in the late 18th century by Salah Bey. That earlier bridge as heavily damaged during the 1836 siege of Constantine, and collapsed in 1857.
