Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech
Marrakech, Morocco
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is located on Rue Yves St Laurent, just north of the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech. Like its counterpart in Paris, the museum houses the work of Yves Saint Laurent. It was designed by Studio KO, led by duo Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty. Built from terrazzo, concrete, and terracotta bricks, the Museum has a central atrium that is open to the sky, around which are arranged exhibition rooms, conservation spaces, and an auditorium. The layers of brick are meant to evoke the the weave of textiles Saint Laurent worked with, and the floor plan meant to resemble a sewing pattern.
