This for-profit school campus has a capacity of approximately 2,500 students (currently 1,700 students) in 110 classrooms with about 400 staff members on a 28,266 square yard site recently vacated by a factory in an old industrial area of Karachi. The campus includes junior, middle and senior school blocks, an administration wing, laboratories and auditoriums, overlooking a central playing field and connected along an elevated spine with external walkways. Classrooms are not air-conditioned, so full use is made of Karachi’s sea breeze with shaded open walkways and wind catchers atop the stairwells to let in light and air.
