Additional Classrooms in Gymnasium #1
Rudaki Avenue 137, Dushanbe 734000, Tajikistan, Tajikistan

Dusti District is a remote region bordering Afghanistan. Begun in 1936, its Gymnasium No.1 consists of several single-storey buildings erected at different times. One block had been unsafe due to wood decay for 25 years, leaving the Gymnasium short of classrooms. After funding was finally secured, the old emergency building was replaced with a five-classroom modern building, meeting all construction and other regulatory requirements. The single-storey structure is built of baked bricks and prefabricated concrete slabs. Doors and floors are in wood; window frames in metal and plastic. Heating is via boilers that function with both solid fuel and electricity. All rooms are equipped with internal ventilation and fire alarm systems. Landscaping measures included planting conifers and laying paving slabs.
