On a 2,000 m2 site in a gated community some 15 km from the centre of Ankara, the ground floor of this private residence includes a library, living and dining rooms, and a kitchen and pantry; the upper floor contains three bedroom suites; and the basement contains a covered pool and two guest rooms that open onto a sunken garden, two additional bedrooms, and a laundry room and storage area - the three floors are served by an elevator. The concrete-frame structure is brick-clad, and the parabolic roof over the entry and living area is a steel truss structure. The architect sought to revive handicrafts in the choice of materials, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
