Byblos Town Hall
Jbeil, Lebanon

A new town hall for one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Byblos Town Hall houses municipal departments, offices, and an interactive museum and multipurpose hall for the town. In an effort to bridge the divide between the tourist-heavy historic core and the suburbs where most residents live, the town hall is situated at the interchange of the highway that separates the two areas, within a public park. The building is divided into three large blocks each housing a different component, that are connected at the ground level, a glass-enclosed level that houses the cafeteria and exhibition.
