Women Academy

As well as a female educational academy, the facility also features a 24-hour centre for battered women, a kindergarten, and day-care centre for children, complemented by sports fields, vegetable-farming gardens, and crafts workshops. The winning entry in a national competition, the two-storey building is organised around three courtyards; the structure is a reinforced concrete frame with concrete block infill. As well as for teachers, the academy includes offices for social workers, child development specialists, and psychologists; the educational facilities include a library, conference room, and exhibition hall as well as classrooms and workshops; and there are accommodations and a cafeteria/kitchen to serve the women residents.
