Within the grounds of the Shiraz Namazi hospital, the mosque is built around an old prayer hall surrounded by trees, which used to be part of a garden on the site. The new building was inserted in the vacant space between the trees and the old prayer hall, with enough prayer space to accommodate 450 worshippers. The overall concept was to design a mosque without a traditional courtyard. Access to the interior prayer hall is by two main entrances connected to a riwaq or arcade, formed by a perforated curtain wall with Islamic geometric patterns. A minaret is placed next to each entrance, evoking traditional Iranian mosque design.
