Gran Rubina Business Park
Jakarta, Indonesia

This 21-storey office tower with retail and parking facilities uses passive design strategies to combat environmental issues such as high temperatures, high humidity, traffic congestion, and a lack of open public space. The floorplan is designed for easy maintenance and the horizontal and vertical shading on the facade provides protection against glare and reduces the building’s cooling load. The project is part of a 40-hectare development that connects to the bus rapid transit system and the (future) light rail system, enabling a restriction on the use of cars. In addition, the landscaped outdoor area is open to the public, providing additional green space in the city.
