School of Alpha Omega
Tangerang City, Jawat Bara, Indonesia

The 300-student school is divided into preschool, elementary, junior high, and senior high school. Four clusters of classrooms are distributed in a quarter radial-fashioned site planning strategy to avoid the formality of the common rigid grid system and to give each cluster an openness to the sunlight, airflow, and paddy fields surrounding the school. The four classroom clusters are linked with a star-shaped building that houses the children’s workshop, a multipurpose, creative hub for the students. The building’s structure is steel, lifted above ground on a system of pilotis to ensure stability. The envelope utilises traditional brick masonry and bamboo work.
