Pavillion on Hauz Khas (Mission for Indian History and Archaeology)New Delhi, India
1959-1962 Survey
Called the Pavilion on Ḥauẓ Khāṣ. Located in the center of the Ḥauẓ Khāṣ reservoir. Grid ref. F-11
This is a building with a square plan measuring 11.7 m on an external side. It has small entrances on all four sides, and a room in the center measuring 4.1 m2. In the middle of the passages from the four entrances to the central room, there are steps leading up to the rooftop. It is possible that there once was a structure on the rooftop, which is now flat. Judging from its location, it is thought that the building was meant to be a floating pavilion on a lake. Period II.

2015-18 Survey
This has become a pavilion in the Hauz Khas park. Compared to the photos from 1959-62, about 3m more of the plinth has been dug out and exposed. The finish on the upper part remains.

[Multi-storey building] Originally a building within Hauz Khas Lake, 11.7m on one side and 4m on one side of the room, it is a unique building with a wall thickness of nearly 4m, which suggests that it was a multi-storey building, like the staircase building in O7. However, it is similar to the O6 upper storey building in that the staircase is set within the wall thickness. The interior has a squinch arch with a circular octagonal shape, crowned by a near-planar dish vault. Tunnel vaults are used in the cruciform aisles.
