Koofan House
Taqah, Oman

The house of the late Sheikh Salem bin Faraj Koofan is now the Koofan Heritage House. It is a typical three-story merchant’s house in Taqah, Oman designed in the regional architectural style of Dhofar. It is constructed of limestone and wood beam ceilings, incorporating elaborate windows and doors of imported wood, evincing the high socioeconomic status of the original owner’s trading business. Like other merchant homes in the area.
