Bayt Nadir
Muscat, Oman

Bayt Nadir was constructed in the early 19th century and was the residence of a member of the Al Bu Said family. It is located opposed Bayt Shihab, also known as Bayt al-Wakil. Bayt Nadir is so-named for its last occupant, Sayyid Nadir B. Faysal b. Turki, brother of Sultan Taymur b. Faysal, who was resident in the house until approximately 1971, after which time the house served as the offices of the Ministry of Communications then as a small museum in the late 1970s to early 1980s under the Historical Association of Oman. The building was deemed unsafe and has since remained vacant and neglected. It stands opposite Masjid al-Wakil.
