Hagar al-Dabiah Village
Luxor, Egypt

Designed as a model village for the relocation of flood victims, the project consists of 16 housing blocks formed by 124 traditional, compact courtyard housing units, a mosque, a social building and a market place, which are enclosed by a fence and a gatehouse. All buildings are made of load-bearing limestone walls and covered with either brick domes or vaults.
