Old Parliament Building Restoration
Tehrān, Iran
Reconstruction of a 19th century private residence that was later converted to house the Parliament in 1906. Over a third of the building was destroyed by fire in 1994. The reconstruction covered over 80% of the building and included replacement of all of the structural timber with steel or concrete, making the building earthquake resistant.
