An apartment building situated in the residential area of Dhaka. Part of the complex is constructed with load bearing brick walls clad and the remaining segments are built with columns, beams, and reinforced concrete slabs. Window openings, railings and jally works are fabricated from solid chittagong teak by local craftsmen, and the floors are finished in terrazzo and ceramic tiles. The design was deliberately not 'modern' in its approach; as such methods often prove inappropriate for local production of materials, climate, and culture. Indeed, only local materials and local labour were used.
