This charity clinic provides basic health care for people in a rural area who would otherwise go without. It is currently open three days a week and limited to outpatient treatment and distribution of medicine, but funding is being sought to enable it to provide a full range of services. The design of the brick building establishes a human scale and responds to both topography and climate. An expensive excavation of the site was avoided by arranging the facilities over two ground levels, and the plan incorporates open-air spaces that can be used almost year-round, just like the courtyards of rural houses.
