In the capital city of Astana, this project has seen the creation of a 300-metre-wide linear park along 15 kilometres of the Yesil River, connecting four existing parks. Planting, survey platforms, slopes, lighting and street furniture have been introduced. A city beach and three islands provide bases for water sports. In addition, the bed of the river has been broadened and deepened to allow passenger ships to pass through the city, and landings and moorings provided, as well as flood protection. Bringing together architecture, town planning and engineering, the project aims to bring a harmonious unity to the city and its river.
