Yayasan Social Soegiyapranata Program
Semarang, Indonesia
A social program to provide housing for poor families. The basic 4x6 m units, of simple construction are detached or semi-detached, with bamboo walls, supported on a wooden frame. Roofs are tiled, but the houses have neither ceilings nor glazed windows. Infrastructure is to be developed by the residents themselves. However, Y.S.S. often provides communal pit latrines, to which families can connect their toilets, or communal water stand-pipes.
